I'm back to Winds again after kicking off Gay Ann's Mystery in a Corner with my ANG chapter last night. Things went pretty well, considering I didn't really have a formal plan on what to teach, but rather just stepped through the instructions, giving tips and help along the way. All of the comments I received were positive, at least! We talked about all of the steps in the center square and the couched borders.
It's going to be so neat to see everyone's projects progressing. Each of the ~10 stitchers last night had a different color scheme. I'm looking forward to seeing how they come together!

A Very Happy Birthday!! I hope you enjoy your long weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe corner project looks terrific!
Yes, Happy Birthday to Jeanne! Congratulations on another good year of stitching.
ReplyDeleteThis photo was a revalation to me of how much the background canvas color effects the center part. The first photos when choosing colors for it didn't show the background and I didn't really like the colors much. But when you throw in the background canvas' color, it looks great.
Just goes to show the background is very important in a piece.
Thanks for sharing the photo, Jeanne. Enjoy your b-day weekend.

Happy Birthday! Enjoy your day and I wish you another great year filled with stitching!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day and your weekend :-)
Happy belated birthday as I am only now doing a round of my favorite blogs. Hope you had a good one :-)
ReplyDeleteJust yesterday, I decided to go ahead and purchase Gay Ann's Mystery in a Corner as I feel that I sure can use the practice in playing with colors more than I have so far. If I am lucky I may receive the instructions this coming week and then will have to decide which color scheme I will go with. Like you said, it will be fun to see everybody's color choice.
Looking forward to see how yours will turn out.
